Resolved Question: Where can I Recycle This?
I just sent my old cellphone to the recycle place. Is there somewhere I can send my grandma’s old catheters? They’re really starting to pile up.
Resolved Question: Where can I get a “paper” phone book?
With all the cellphone, internet, etc. craze it almost seems as though “Fahrenheit 451″ is getting closer to becoming a reality rather than science fiction. I have tried to find a method of obtaining an actual paper phone book with yellow/white pages, government pages, maps for my area. My LAN line carrier is out of such a directory and will not have any new ones for 6 months! I have the internet and a cellphone but sometimes I just want to grab a book and look up a number. It costs 1.50 in my area for directory assistance. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to acquire a comprehensive paper phone book? I have even tried the dump and once someone has dropped off an item for recycling that item can not be given to the public.
Resolved Question: Are we unknowingly killing ourselves and our families?
Assume you think about doing “good”. Whats important is living and helping people/your family. So you get a good education and work a job to support your family. So we work hard to make money and buy stuff we don’t need but it’s ok because we worked for it right? Heck it’s some peoples job to make us want to buy things, social obligations require gifts, and unfortunately the goverment keeps failing to stabilize the economy and create more jobs. Why the job shortage? Because of a need to consume and faith in technology ends up decreasing the demand for labor. To counter this we force our kids to compete in schools for limited jobs. Place hope in technology and education to save us while technology prevents us from working. A catch 22 with poor leadership, dependant on a flawed system, powerless to get a unanimous support, reliant on consuming goods which pollutes the enviroment which creates more demand for healthcare and more jobs(good?)
All of this is to distract ourselves from our inevitable death because we think we cant do anything? Or to have sex with pretty women because we have money? When we have kids we have already polluted the Earth we depend on. Rely on our kids to care of us through SS, so people live too long suffer degrading health at the expense of their or just other peoples kids. Now the kids grow up and have to deal with this vicious cycle(as it gets worse)
Recycling unneccessary goods will never solve the problem. It’s reactive not proactive but makes us feel less bad about being wasteful. The corrupted(weakest minded people) rule us and we don’t know better? Are 20 brands of bbq sauce, a 40 inch flatscreen tv, new cellphone every year worth the cost of brain cancer, leaking garbage dumps that poison the water we drink? Is our life a doomed cycle within humanities doomed cycle aka the apocalpyse?
Summary: Work jobs we hate, to buy crap we don’t need(house = enviromentally wasteful success) which destroys the enviroment we depend on to sustain the life of ourselves until it all collapses through global warming, pandemics, war, or whatever.
Are the only possibilities for good the simple hard life like the amish.
Drastically reducing the population growth.
Or believing philosophical speculation like people don’t die we’re only an extension of the Earth.
Or praying God saves us before or after we die, our lives simply being a learning experience.
What do you think?
don’t be #scammed into giving your old #cellphone away to those #recycle program scams. they just collect them to get the #gold #realtalk
